The Kuban Water Utilization System includes a number of large waterworks facilities. One of them is the Krasnodar reservoir on the Kuban River, with a capacity of 2.3 cubic km, which is necessary both for the accumulation of water for rice cultivation, and for the protection of the lower reaches of the river from catastrophic floods.
